Girl 1 and Girl 2

Girl 1 and Girl 2 was also two of the dogs rescued from the expressway which we brought in for sterilisation and back to shelter.

Quiet and nice temperament.

Terry

Terry is actually Qi Qi's "boyfriend." Their happy family consists of their sweet-looking daughter, Chomel.

In fact, this family has almost the same look. Quite difficult to identify who is who unless under close examination. Hmmm...

Terry is good with dogs and humans.

Poor Happy is hospitalised

Happy was brought in to MPAH (Mt Pleasant Animal Hospital - HQ) for spaying yesterday as we thought her bulging bloated stomach was due to being pregnant.

Thanks to Doctor Goh years of veterinarian's expertise, no operation was conducted in the afternoon for Happy as he felt something amissed and decided to do an ultra scan on her instead. The scan revealed no traces of bones found in her stomach.

Most probably, the underlying problem of her bloated stomach might be due to liver or heart failure. In extreme rare case, cancer.

For the time being, Happy has to be on medication and hopefully with the correct dosage, her body is able to discharge fluid on her own.

A gist of Happy: She was rescued from AVA one-two years ago.

Keep a look-out on Happy as we continue to bring you more updates on her. We are also anxious of her well-being.

Let us pray for the best and that her body will be strong enough to withstand and be able to purge out the fluid.

(keeping our fingers crossed x 100 times!)

UPDATES AS AT 9 JUL 09:
Happy has been discharged and back at shelter.

Flora

Poor Flora was adopted together with her sibling, Niu Niu when they were still puppies. Unfortunately, their doting owner passed away recently and his family returned Flora back to us.

Niu Niu's whereabout was not revealed to us and we are unable to locate her till date.

Flora has very unique markings on her body and a plus bonus that she has got very lovely temperament too! Good with dogs and humans. Another dog who loves to tailgate us wherever we walked around in the shelter. We strongly believed that she is still waiting patiently for her owner.

If only...... *sigh*

Sweetest Jia Jia @ 佳佳

Beloved Jia Jia @ 佳佳 passed away on 9 Jun 2010.

Jia Jia was formerly known as Olive. But we changed her name for the better. She used to be very skinny and terrified of humans when we first brought her into the shelter.

Not sure if it was pure coincidence or what, upon changing her name to Jia Jia, her appetite slowly picked up and she looks so much better as compared to before.

Now she is a happy little girl in the shelter.. still afraid of humans but has shown a drastic improvement.

Look how lovely she posed for this picture? :)

Xiao Won Won

Small Won Won is a very cute boy whom was also rescued.

Good with dogs and humans. :)

Devil Evil

To be honest, we are not so sure how her name derived. Devil Evil is also one of the dogs we rescued from the expressway. A very lovely and manja girl whom often ran and cheerfully followed us when we go around feeding her friends at the expressway last time.

Currently, she is one of the leaders in the shelter so don't pray pray! :)

Curly Girl

Curly girl is actually Curly's daughter whom we rescued from the expressway recently. The last few pups whom we rescued, Curly girl has very nice temperament.

Good with dogs and humans :)

Shelter's Updates

We apologise for the delay in updating the blog!

In the merry month of June was our most extremely busy but fruitful period of the year. The shelter dogs had their 3rd ivermeticm jab in addition to their annual vaccination. *phew*

We are proud to announce that almost 98% of the dogs had fully recovered from skin problem while the remaining 2% of the dogs had shown positive signs of furs appearing.

Our beloved Buddy whom was once weak and "botak" has become more muscular and handsome too!

Keep a look-out for more updates coming your way...
